Well the weather up here in Jacksonville has been ridiculously cold the past few months, but it’s that time a year for the one and only EL CHEAPO SHEEPSHEAD TOURNAMENT. The tournament will be taking place on Saturday February 27, 2010. This is the 10th annual tournament and is put on by the JOSFC, and I must say it’s a blast. The cost is still 60 bucks so hurry and sign up if you haven’t. See you in two weeks!!

Sorry for the lack of updates everyone, Ive decided I need to be much better about updating this. My friend Christie Bateh put together a collage of pictures that were taken from 2009, of people sporting Catchin' A Buzz Shirts in pictures with fish, hope you all enjoy it, and send it your pictures id like to do it next year and maybe even make poster to give to everyone who makes it on.

If you live in Florida, go pick up the latest issued of Coastal Angler Magazine. This magazine has everything you could ask for in a magazine and is free!! So go ahead to your local bait shop and pick one up or ask them to start carrying them, or if you want just check out their website.

If you haven't fished The Big Whiting tournament we suggest you take part in the last one of the year on November 3, 2009. There were 3 payouts last time with first place taking home 250 bucks! The weigh in will be at The Ritz in Jax Beach. So get 10 bucks together and have a fun day of fishing on the beach with your family followed my a nice fish fry and 2 dollar beers! So the Big Whiting Tournament was changed from a Tuesday to a Sunday in August. It was a huge sucess. The Winner took home over 600 bucks! Here are some pictures from the site that I borrowed. Hey all you people in Jacksonville Florida!! Want to meet people with the same interests as you. Well Coastal Boasting Fishing Club offers just that.
It’s that time of year to gather over cold drinks with old friends and talk about the one that got away!
The Tournament was founded on the sole purpose of using a common interest to keep friends together! With that in mind, we have decided to change CBJAX from an 8 week Tournament to an Annual Club. We will be scheduling Mini Tournaments throughout the year with Ft. George Parties and Happy Hours in between.
FEE: The annual costs will only be $15.00 per person with Mini Tournaments and gatherings on a “pay as you participate” basis. Your 15.00 Membership fee will be paid through the website and will help offset the costs associated with the website and non-profit corporation fees.

The Big Whiting tournament out of Jax Beach was a success yet again... Willie one of the bartenders at the lemon bar took home first prize. Congrats to Willie. Check out the website. This tournament is every first tuesday of the month. So if you live in Jacksonville make sure to sign up..its only 10 bux and it is followed by a fish fry and $2 coronas at THE RITZ....if you dont fish come up and say whats up!!!
